La sobreviviente del 7 de octubre, Gali Idan, habló casi un año después de que Hamás asesinara a su hija y se llevara secuestrado a su esposo.

Blitzer entrevistó a Gali por primera vez en noviembre de 2023, apenas un mes después de que la familia Idan fuera atacada por Hamás en su casa en el kibutz Nahal Oz en la mañana del 7 de octubre.

“Todavía no puedo llorar por Maayan porque estoy en una guerra continua para salvar a mi marido”, expresó Gali. “No fui a ver su tumba. No pude. Va a pasar un año, y necesito ir a verla, y no puedo; necesito que Tsachi esté aquí y tenemos que hacerlo juntos”, aseveró.
Gali dijo que lo último que supo de la condición de su marido fue a finales de noviembre, durante la última liberación de rehenes de Gaza: “Un testigo ocular dijo que estuvo con él durante un día o dos y habló con él, y él estaba muy deprimido emocionalmente, pensando en Maayan y en lo que pasó”.
