El sargento Nave Yair Asulin, soldado de la Brigada Kfir de Carmit, que cayó en combate esta semana en el norte de la Franja de Gaza, dejó una carta para su familia.
Junto con su teléfono celular, los padres de Asulin recibieron varias notas que les había escrito en caso de que no regresara de la batalla.
Él escribió: «Este es el mayor privilegio y mitzvá que un judío puede obtener. Dicen: ‘Quien salve una vida de Israel es como si hubiera salvado al mundo entero’. Si voy a morir, que sea por la tierra de Israel», escribió.
«Espero que después de la guerra tenga que quemar estas páginas y que no se utilicen, pero si es así, que al menos se les dé un buen uso. Si lees esto, probablemente ya pasó lo peor, pero debes saber de todo corazón que estoy orgulloso de lo que hice y no me arrepiento ni un momento», continuó el sargento.
El militar agregó: «Creo que es un gran privilegio continuar en el camino de nuestros antepasados en la tierra de Israel y luchar por este kand y vengar la sangre de nuestros hermanos judíos que fueron masacrados por ser judíos«.
Además, pidió a su familia que no se llenaran de tristeza tras su muerte. “¡Sigan viviendo! Aunque ya no esté entre ustedes, sigo estando con ustedes y los sigo viendo y estoy con ustedes en todas partes. Incluso en los eventos que todos aquí tendrán, estaré allí, lo prometo. Sonrían, rían, amen y aprovechen cada momento de su vida ya que se vive una vez. No es un cliché, es la verdad».
En el cierre, el militar pidió que «no se hundan en la tristeza por lo que pasó ya que estoy en un lugar mejor. Continuaré cuidándolos desde arriba donde sea que haya peligro y pueda protegerlos mejor».
«Te dejo, pero no para siempre, sólo en este mundo físico, que de todos modos es una tontería. Por absurdo que suene, en unos momentos, sin darte cuenta, estarás conmigo aquí y nos reiremos de todo lo que pasó y te prometo historias que te parecerán locas incluso en el otro mundo«, finalizó Nave Yair Asulin en su última carta.
