«Nosotros, como creadores que actuamos, estudiamos y exploramos el alma humana, observamos con dolor y preocupación la grave erosión de las personas y los valores, y clamamos, por el bien de la sociedad israelí y en nombre del espíritu humano, a romper el ciclo del horror, a devolver de inmediato a los rehenes y a detener la guerra», expresaron.
A su vez, también 350 autores israelíes exigieron al primer ministro Benjamín Netanyahu el fin de la guerra y el regreso de los 59 secuestrados restantes. Entre los firmantes se encuentran David Grossman, Shifra Horn, Fania Oz-Salzberger, Yehoshua Sobol, Ilan Sheinfeld, Zeruya Shalev y otros autores, poetas, editores, traductores, ilustradores y profesionales de la literatura.
La carta de los autores afirma que la mayoría sirvió en las FDI y contribuyeron a la construcción del Estado de Israel, su cultura y su literatura.
