Dan Illouz: «Mi sueño es volver a ver a la Confederatzia como una organización gigante que abrace a todos por igual»

Vis á Vis dialogó en exclusiva con Dan Illouz, el vicepresidente de la Confederatzia (Confederación Mundial de Sionistas Unidos), y contó su experiencia en Santiago de Chile, su pensamiento sobre el Movimiento sionista juvenil, el legado, la renovación dirigencial en la dirigencia judía mundial, Israel y también sobre el encuentro con el presidente de la Legislatura Porteña, Francisco Quintana.

Illouz es un dirigente joven (33 años) que además es miembro del consejo de la ciudad de Jerusalén. Abogado de derechos humanos de profesión, Dan es un ex asesor legislativo de la facción del Likud en la Knéset. Anteriormente sirvió en una capacidad legal en el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y trabajó con el alcalde de Jerusalén, Nir Barkat. Se graduó de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad McGill y del programa de maestría en política pública de la Universidad Hebrea. Estuvo en Santiago de Chile el último fin de semana, donde se realizó la Primera Conferencia Latinoamericana de lucha contra el Antisemitismo y el encuentro de jóvenes sionistas.

  • Sos un dirigente muy joven pero con una extensa trayectoria. ¿Considerás que sos parte de una renovación dirigencial en Israel?

Muchas gracias, estoy muy contento de estar aquí en América Latina, en especial en Argentina, y he visto aquí muchos dirigentes jóvenes en especial la última semana. Llegué a la Argentina sin conocer mucho a la comunidad local y me voy con una esperanza por la dirigencia joven que he visto. Sin dudas en Israel hay una generación joven que está tomando responsabilidades. Por supuesto que no llega a cargos dirigenciales como Primer Ministro, tenemos un PM que está ya hace años, pero a nivel político en el Likud hay gente como Ayelet Shaked o Amir Ohana. Y tenemos gente joven que toma responsabilidades. Por lo general es gente con muchos valores, muy ideológica. Critican mucho a la gente que hace política solamente por el hecho de hacer política por la fuerza. Refresca todo lo que es el debate político. Incluso los más experimentados, como Netanyahu por ejemplo, comienzan a hablar otro lenguaje por los jóvenes.

  • ¿Qué conclusiones extrae del Primer Congreso Latinoamericano de Lucha contra el antisemitismo que se realizó en Chile este fin de semana?

Estuve en dos congresos en paralelo, no solo en el de la Organización Sionista Mundial, principalmente estuve en el congreso nuestro que es para fortalecer la Generación de Jóvenes de la Confederatzia, que es la organización a la que pertenezco. En paralelo también participamos en espacios del Congreso contra el Antisemitismo que fue bueno y que es muy positivo que haya gente que se ocupe de esa problemática. Quiero agregar que una de las conclusiones que saqué de ese congreso es que tenemos que construir una identidad judía que no solamente esté basada en el antisemitismo y en el odio al otro. Sino también en algo positivo, en algo que nos produzca orgullo no solamente en lo que dicen de nosotros sino en algo positivo nuestro. Esa es una de las conclusiones que saco del congreso que no es una crítica porque el congreso estaba enfocado especialmente en antisemitismo pero es una de las reflexiones que hice.

  • ¿Cuáles fueron los objetivos de este viaje?

Vine específicamente a encontrarme con la generación joven de mi organización que es la Confederatzia y no conocía mucho la dirigencia local y me encontré con una generación joven de liderazgo, que tiene muchos deseos de influenciar y cambiar las cosas.

  • ¿Cómo es la relación con Hejalutz Lamerjav?

Hejalutz Lamerjav es parte de nuestro movimiento. Trabajamos a la par, también los apoyamos y estamos orgullosos del trabajo que hacen tanto en Argentina como en otros países.

  • ¿Cómo se encuentra el movimiento sionista juvenil en el mundo?

Esta en crisis. Hay que que dividir en dos cuestiones diferentes: dstá el Movimiento Sionista Organizado oficial como institución y está el Sionismo, el amor a Israel, el deseo de ser parte de ese sentimiento. Los dos están en crisis. Primero es más grave porque la gente no entiende cuál es la necesidad de esa institucionalización. El segundo está en crisis porque la gente comienza a hacerse preguntas que hasta hace un tiempo eran obvias. Y nosotros tenemos que empezar a responder esas preguntas y no simplemente decirles no, esas cosas no se preguntan.

  • ¿Más allá de que es muy joven y tiene mucho recorrido por delante, que sueña dejar como legado en el movimiento?

La Confederatzia hace 100 años era una organización gigante y era la más importante de lo que es el Movimiento Sionista. Lamentablemente con el tiempo pasamos a ser una organización más pequeña. En América Latina seguimos teniendo fuerza pero en otros lugares del mundo somos más pequeños. Pero yo creo que el mensaje de la Confederatzia es el más importante para los desafíos de hoy en día y es el mensaje que antes que nada somos sionistas y después criticamos la política. Lo que pasa en la política israelí no está tan relacionado con la identidad judía en la Argentina o en otros lugares y también el acento en la juventud y en la innovación, en crear cosas nuevas y no siempre volver a las mismas cosas. Esas cosas son el remedio al problema que hay en el Movimiento Sionista. Mi sueño es volver a ver a la Confederatzia como una organización gigante que abraza a todos por igual. No importa si alguien que piensa en Netanyahu es el mejor de todos o el peor. No importa si es alguien que quiere que Netanyahu siga o que se vaya del gobierno. El objetivo común que tenemos es más grande que esas cosas pequeñas».

  • ¿Qué conclusiones sacó de la reunión con el Presidente de la Legislatura Porteña Francisco Quintana?

Como ciudadano de Jerusalén estoy muy orgulloso del interés que hay en la Ciudad y de que se interesen en Israel por lo positivo. Siempre interesaba en Israel por lo negativo y en los últimos años empieza el interes por el positivo». Los políticos del mundo se están interesando tecnología e innovación y es algo de lo cual Jerusalen e Israel es experto en el asunto y siempre vamos a estar contentos de compartir eso con el mundo, y ese interés es lo que noté hoy a la mañana. Justamente él es parte de la generación joven. Es una persona joven y tiene mucho futuro por delante. Hay posibilidades de trabajo en conjunto y lo invitó a conocer Israel, Jerusalén y él dijo que ya está invitado y justamente cuando esté en Israel espero poder encontrarlo allá».

  • ¿Qué piensa como ciudadano de Jerusalén, del traslado de las embajadas a su ciudad?

A grandes rasgos todo Israel no solo Jerusalén, apoyamos esas decisiones; hoy en día no es algo que afecte en gran medida el día a día del habitante de Jerusalén. Si esperamos que en el momento que empiezan a trasladarse mas embajadas, la ciudad se transforme , haya influencia económica y nos podamos abrir más al mundo.
