El periódico israelí en lengua inglesa, The Jerusalem Post, realizó un informe de la celebración de Januca en las distintas comunidades del interior de la Argentina con una entrevista exclusiva al presidente de Vaad Hakehilot, Eliahu Hamra.
«Januca es cuando celebramos el poder de la espiritualidad para vencer lo físico, y esa es la historia del pueblo judío en el exilio», dijo el rabino Eliahu Hamra, presidente del Vaad Hakehilot.
Para reforzar esto, AMIA, una organización comunitaria judía en Buenos Aires, llevó a cabo una serie de eventos en Januca este año para las pequeñas comunidades judías repartidas por las provincias del país, ayudadas en varios casos por Jabad en Argentina.
El Vaad Hakehilot organizó una serie de celebraciones en 30 comunidades judías en las provincias de Argentina incluidas grandes ciudades como Córdoba, Rosario y Salta, y también en otros lugares, en las que participaron varios cientos de personas.
Entre las actividades organizadas por AMIA hubo varios conciertos de bandas judías, además de ayudar a organizar ceremonias comunitarias de encendido de velas, lograr la participación de funcionarios del gobierno en tales ceremonias y llevar a cabo otras actividades culturales durante las vacaciones.
La organización también proporcionó docenas de Janukiot a familias en las ciudades provinciales y envió rabinos a estas comunidades para atenderlos y ayudarlos durante las vacaciones.
Aunque Buenos Aires alberga a la comunidad judía más grande de Argentina, AMIA se ha enfocado en proporcionar eventos religiosos y culturales para el resto del país.
«En estas festividades, todos se unen con su Janukiá para iluminar y resaltar la espiritualidad sobre cualquier situación material, que es lo que sostiene a las comunidades judías», dijo Hamra.
“Es un honor que podamos ayudar e incluir a todas las comunidades judías en Argentina. Nos da un gran impulso para continuar apoyando y fortaleciendo a las comunidades del país”. Hamra dijo que AMIA ayuda a proporcionar fondos a estas comunidades para eventos educativos y culturales durante todo el año calendario, además de ayudar con los servicios religiosos durante las fiestas judías.
