El Ministerio de Salud hizo circular un documento en el que se recomienda a todas las organizaciones de la economía, especialmente a los servicios esenciales, estudiar cómo garantizar su funcionamiento bajo el telón de fondo de un eventual aumento del ausentismo laboral en las próximas semanas, debido al creciente número de empleados que se encuentra en cuarentena. Hasta el momento, alrededor de cien mil israelíes, o sea uno por ciento de la población, se supone que están aislados en sus hogares en cuarentena, pero probablemente la cifra trepará con el correr de los días.
El documento señala que el Ministerio se está preparando para un escenario en el cual el virus se difunda masivamente en Israel. Allí se subraya que las empresas deberían considerar prohibir a sus empleados viajar al exterior, y garantizar medidas de higiene en los lugares de trabajo tales como el lavado de las manos y evitar el contacto entre los empleados.
El documento apunta que, según las nuevas directivas, un representante del Instituto Nacional del Seguro se contactará con quienes entren en aislamiento y monitorearán el desarrollo cada dos días. También se indica que el Laboratorio de Virología Clínica en el Hospital Hadassah Ein Kerem de Jerusalén, llevará a cabo los test sobre el virus, además del Hospital Sheba de Tel Hashomer, en el suburbio de Ramat Gan, en el área metropolitana de Tel Aviv.
El documento explora un escenario en el que decenas de jueces y funcionarios del aparato de judicial ingresen en aislamiento. Se trata principalmente de quienes regresaron recientemente del exterior en cumplimiento con las instrucciones del Ministerio de Salud.
Paralelamente, el ministro de Defensa, Naftalí Bennet, en coordinación con la Autoridad Palestina (AP), ordenó el cierre de la ciudad cisjordana de Belén donde se reportaron siete casos del virus COVID-19. La medida se mantendrá en vigor al menos hasta el próximo jueves.
