En el día de ayer comenzó el ciclo virtual «Charlas de Judaísmo y Diversidad», del Centro Hebreo Ioná, con el Rabino Mario Rojzman como primer invitado.
Desde Miami, el discípulo de Marshall Meyer conversó acerca de su legado y el racismo actual en los Estados Unidos en un diálogo titulado «Cuando los que sufren no son los nuestros».
El Mario Rojzman se refirió al asesinato de George Floyd, el hombre de 46 años cuya muerte a manos de la policía de Minnesota catalizó una ola de protestas contra la injusticia racial en Estados Unidos y el resto del mundo.
El rabino dialogó con Uriel Aiskovich, el director de proyectos del Centro Hebreo Ioná, aseguró que «si George Floyd tenía una kipá o estaba vestido de negro el mundo hubiese estado dado vuelta».
En otro fragmento de la charla Rojzman expresó que «cuando un judío se ocupa del sufrimiento del otro, no del propio porque eso es fácil sino del ajeno, no está haciendo otra cosa que para lo que fue creado. En nuestra teología figura ‘vas a sentir la esclavitud como propia para que cuando seas libre nunca te olvides de tu origen'».

En el ciclo se dialoga acerca de la diversidad que existe en el judaísmo desde distintos enfoques, con representantes del movimiento conservador, los movimientos liberales, Jabad y la ortodoxia moderna.
Todas las charlas serán transmitidas por Facebook Live en castellano del Centro Hebreo IONA y también en vivo por Vis a Vis.
