La aerolínea El Al se encamina a la nacionalización

A un mes de que el Ministerio de Finanzas propusiera un plan de rescate para El Al, la junta directiva de la empresa aceptó una propuesta. Es la que allana el camino a una nacionalización de la aerolínea israelí. privatizada en los primeros años del 2000.
Durante dos años registró pérdidas. Sufrió una grave crisis desatada por el coronavirus y a comienzos de junio el Tesoro israelí ofreció un salvataje a través de préstamos bancarios.

Este salvataje es por 250 millones de dólares con una garantía estatal del 75% y una emisión de acciones por 150 millones que el Estado comprará en caso de no encontrar otros ofertantes. Es un escenario muy probable debido a las delicadas finanzas de la compañía.
La aerolínea El Al se encamina a la nacionalización
Así, el Estado podría quedarse hasta con el 61% de las acciones de la compañía. Eso implicaría la nacionalización y una significativa pérdida del control de la empresa de parte de Knafaim Holdigns, el accionista privado mayoritario en la actualidad.
El objetivo del gobierno, tras este proceso de normalización financiera, es encontrar compradores para que, una vez saneada, la empresa vuelva a manos privadas.
Si bien a mediados de junio desde El Al habían realizado una contraoferta para mantener el control de la compañía. Finalmente la junta directiva aprobó el esquema del gobierno con el visto bueno de los representantes de Knafaim Holdings.
Según una fuente presente en la reunión de la junta, la decisión se tomó después de semanas de discusiones internas.  asesores profesionales que determinaron que esta opción era la mejor para el futuro de la compañía.
