Los funcionarios griegos acordaron permitir la entrada al país de turistas israelíes sin necesidad de que cumplan una cuarentena obligatoria de dos semanas.
Grecia e Israel se habían comprometido en junio a trabajar hacia la reanudación del turismo bilateral en algún momento del mes de agosto si las precauciones contra el coronavirus así lo permitían.
En una conversación telefónica que mantuvieron los cancilleres Gabi Ashkenazi, de Israel, y Nikos Dandias, de Grecia, se acordó que este último país asignaría lugares específicos que los turistas israelíes podrían visitar, sin cuarentena ya que los países de la Unión Europea no pueden aceptar turistas de países con alta tasa de infección por coronavirus.
Está previsto que Dandias llegue a Israel el jueves para ultimar los detalles del acuerdo, incluida la fecha para la reanudación oficial de los vuelos entre Israel y Grecia.
