“La situación del país es más grave de lo que muestran las estadísticas oficiales”, analizó la doctora Keren Schechter Azoulay, directora regional del fondo de salud Maccabi. Ella estimó con preocupación que los datos podrían empeorar.
“Septiembre va a ser un mes crítico ya que hay fiestas, celebraciones en sinagogas y reuniones familiares. Después vendrán las enfermedades del invierno y el impacto de la vuelta a clases se sentirá en los hospitales”, auguró.
Por su parte Leonid Eidelman, israelí y presidente saliente de la Asociación Médica Mundial, acordó con su colega sobre los peligros de la subestimación al COVID-19. “No es simplemente una gripe, hace 8 meses que lo venimos diciendo, es una enfermedad grave y hay gente que está muriendo”, alertó.

En la mañana del lunes se contabilizaron 453 infectados con coronavirus en estado grave, de los cuales 123 son asistidos con respiradores artificiales.
A pesar de la oposición de Roni Gamzu, director del Proyecto Coronavirus, recientemente en el gobierno se impuso la postura del Ministerio de Educación y comenzó el ciclo lectivo inclusive en ciudades definidas como “rojas” por sus altos índices de contagio.
