Una mujer de 34 años que colapsó en su boda en el sur de Israel murió nueve días después en el Centro Médico Soroka en Be’er Sheba.
La novia era pediatra, identificada como la Dra. Shirley Almasi por el portal Sroguim, y sufrió un incidente cardíaco durante el evento nupcial.
Su esposo y muchos de los invitados, también médicos, hicieron todo lo posible inmediatamente después de que colapsó en su boda.
En ese momento la mujer fue trasladada en grave estado al Centro Médico Soroka, su lugar de trabajo. Permaneció en condición crítica durante los últimos 9 días, pero los médicos no pudieron salvarla.
Soroka informó: «Se evacuó a Shirley al hospital durante una prolongada reanimación y se la trasladó a la unidad de cuidados intensivos del Departamento de Cirugía Cardiotorácica en un estado muy grave».
El hospital, por su parte, agregó: “Compartimos el profundo dolor de su esposo, médico de la división de obstetricia. También enviamos nuestras condolencias a la familia y todo el personal del centro médico”.
Moshe Moore, paramédico del Maguén David Adom, quien llegó al lugar después del colapso, dijo en ese momento que “los sentimientos eran difíciles. Luchamos por su vida junto con otros médicos. Ver a una mujer joven con un vestido de novia cuando está inconsciente es lo peor que vi».
