La DAIA y la Embajada de México presentan el documental: «Paraíso en Auschwitz»

El próximo 15 de noviembre se emitirá, en el ciclo de cine de DAIA en cuarentena, junto a la Embajada de México en Argentina, el documental «Paraíso en Auschwitz», de Aarón y Esther Cohen. Se podrá ver por el canal de Youtube, Prensa DAIA a las 19.30 hs.

El director  de la película explicó el por qué del nombre del documental.

«El título de nuestro documental, “Paraíso en Auschwitz”, ha sido muy controvertido y cuestionado sobre todo por los sobrevivientes del Holocausto que pasaron por este campo de exterminio.

Y no es para menos ya que cualquiera se cuestiona como es posible que existiera un paraíso en el infierno.

Cuando estábamos en el proceso de elegir un título para este trabajo, hicimos una encuesta entre gente conocida y el título que ganó fue “Blanca Nieves sobrevivió a Auschwitz “. Platicando con nuestra guionista, Sabina Berman, llegamos a la conclusión que era más adecuado y con mas mercadotecnia el título de “Paraíso en Auschwitz”.

Esto no se comprende hasta que se ve el documental. Efectivamente existió este paraíso en el infierno que fue Auschwitz. Gracias a un personaje increíble llamado Fredy Hirsch, quien creó una escuela para niños en el bloque 31 de el campo familiar B2b a la que los niños asistían todos los días y donde Fredy, junto con otros educadores, creó un mundo diferente durante el tiempo que este campo cumplió la función asignada secretamente por los nazis.

Una anécdota muy esclarecedora fue cuando fuimos invitados a la Universidad Ibero Americana a presenter el documental. Nos invitó la maestra Shulamit Goldsmith, Directora en ese entonces del Departamento de Estudios Judaicos de este recinto. Antes de presentar el documental, nos dijo que ya había visto el trabajo pero que no estaba de acuerdo con el título. Lo iba a mencionar cuando comenzara la sesión de preguntas y respuestas.

Se proyectó el documental a los alumnos asistentes y cuando la profesora nos presentó después de verlo nuevamente, nos dijo que estaba equivocada en su primera impresión y que efectivamente reconocía que ese era el título correcto.

“Paraíso en Auschwitz” es una historia diferente y conmovedora que ha llegado a más de 40,000 corazones de todos los ámbitos judios y gentiles. Nos deja una lección de amor y resiliencia en este mundo tan violento y lleno de contradicciones en el que vivimos en la actualidad.
