Indignación del Centro Wiesenthal por la Absolución del Sospechoso en el Atentado a AMIA

Buenos Aires y París, 24 de diciembre de 2020.

El Centro Wiesenthal ha estado profundamente involucrado en el seguimiento de la masacre de 1994, con un saldo de 85 muertos y más de 300 heridos. Y las consiguientes “Alertas Rojas” de INTERPOL – órdenes de arresto internacionales – sobre ciudadanos de Irán y su sirviente Hezbollah en la atrocidad.

Unas semanas antes del asesinato del fiscal de la causa AMIA, Alberto Nisman, el día antes de que implicara a figuras del gobierno en el proceso judicial ante el Congreso argentino, éste cenó en Londres con el Director de Relaciones Internacionales del Centro Wiesenthal, Dr. Shimon Samuels.

A su vez, Nisman compartió sus hallazgos con el Centro. Esto derivó en nuestra audiencia con el Embajador de Argentina en el Parlamento Británico.

La decisión de esta semana de la Corte de absolver a Carlos Telleldin luego de 26 años de sus «entradas y salidas» de la cárcel, como el único sospechoso que proporcionó el coche bomba, es una bofetada a las víctimas, a sus familiares y al Fiscal asesinado y un regalo a Irán.

“Uno sólo puede imaginarse tal trato de los criminales de guerra nazis Adolf Eichmann o Erich Priebke si hubieran sido juzgados en Argentina”, sugirió Samuels.

El Director del Centro para América Latina, Dr. Ariel Gelblung, agregó: “apoyamos a las instituciones representativas de la comunidad judía argentina, AMIA y DAIA y a los particulares damnificados en los recursos de este fallo. Si se confirma la absolución de Telleldín, llegaremos al 27* aniversario del peor acto antisemita de la historia después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, sin responsables. Será una nueva falla de la justicia argentina, incapaz de esclarecer quiénes fueron los actores locales, y aún incapaz de juzgar a los presuntos imputados por planificación, financiamiento y ejecución, sobre quienes aún pesan alertas rojas de INTERPOL, y que con impunidad en Irán. »

“Ahora que Argentina entra en sus vacaciones de verano y se suspenden los Tribunales, sólo podemos esperar que las apelaciones vigentes reviertan el caso de Telleldin. Esto es vital para la familia de las víctimas y los sobrevivientes. Luego de una espera de 26 años para obtener justicia y un cierre”, argumentaron los funcionarios del Centro.

En los párrafos siguientes, el comunicado de Memoria Activa:

“¿A quién le entregó Carlos Telleldín la camioneta Trafic que contenía el explosivo que voló la AMIA?» es una de las preguntas clave acerca del atentado más importante de la historia argentina. Y, sin embargo, 26 años después, aún sigue sin ser contestada. Hoy se acaba de desechar una oportunidad más para responderla. Telleldín fue absuelto por falta de pruebas en un juicio que no logró echar luz sobre absolutamente nada.

La evidente falta de material probatorio que condujo a la absolución del doblador de autos. Esto no hace más que confirmar lo ya dicho, lo ya denunciado y lo ya probado hasta el cansancio en anteriores procesos judiciales. En la causa AMIA nadie investigó nada y hubo un interés por que nunca sepamos qué pasó el 18 de julio de 1994.

¿De dónde salieron los explosivos? ¿Quiénes fueron los terroristas que idearon y perpetraron el atentado? ¿Quiénes participaron en la conexión local? ¿Por qué el Estado argentino, a través de su órgano de inteligencia, de seguridad, el Poder Judicial y el Ejecutivo, encubrió deliberadamente el hecho y desvió la investigación? ¿Por qué hay quienes hasta el día de hoy buscan seguir ocultando la verdad?

En tanto, es claro que para el caso AMIA sólo quedan preguntas sin respuesta. Para el caso AMIA sólo queda la memoria. Y sólo queda la lucha por aquello que, seguimos creyendo, es nuestro derecho y el de toda la sociedad: verdad y justicia.

En esos comunicados, Centro Simón Wiesenthal y Memoria Activa expresaron su malestar por la absolución de Telleldín, quien entregó el coche bomba que explotó la AMIA.
