El vicepresidente de Estados Unidos canceló su visita a Israel

Mike Pence, vicepresidente de Estados Unidos, canceló su visita a Israel. Estaba previsto que esté en el país entre el 10 y el 13 de enero.
De esta manera, la embajada de EE.UU. confirmó que fue cancelado el viaje planeado a territorio israelí.
Según los informes, el vicepresidente de Estados Unidos estaba planeando una parada de varios días en el estado judío. En lo que iba a ser un viaje al extranjero después de validar la victoria electoral de Biden.
No se dio ninguna razón para la cancelación, que ha sido reportada por primera vez por el sitio de noticias Ynet.
Pence tenía programado hacer una serie de escalas en un viaje mundial final antes de dejar el cargo el 20 de enero. A principios de este mes, Politico informó que el vicepresidente planeaba despegar el 6 de enero, el mismo día que el Congreso de EE. UU. está programado para confirmar la victoria electoral del presidente electo Joe Biden. Luego, iba a visitar varios países, incluido Israel, del 10 al 13 de enero.

“Sospecho que el momento es todo menos una coincidencia”, dijo un aliado de Pence a Politico.
El medio de comunicación citó un documento del gobierno que mostraba que Pence estaba programado para visitar Baréin, Israel y Polonia. Pero dijo que la planificación era tentativa y que se podrían agregar más destinos.
Pence estuvo en Israel por última vez en enero para el Foro Mundial del Holocausto en Yad Vashem. Allí, los dignatarios visitantes se reunieron para recordar el genocidio nazi de judíos durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial y marcar 75 años desde la liberación de Auschwitz.
