La Universidad Bar-Ilan de Israel firmó un acuerdo para colaborar académicamente con la Universidad Médica del Golfo (GMU) de los EAU.
Por su parte, GMU está considerada como una de las principales universidades médicas privadas de la región. El acuerdo de investigación médica conjunta tiene como objetivo promover la investigación médica y la salud pública en Oriente Medio, informó The Jerusalem Post.
“Uno de los logros más importantes de los Acuerdos de Abraham es la oportunidad de colaboración académica entre las universidades de Israel y los Emiratos Árabes Unidos”, dijo el presidente de BIU, el profesor Arie Zaban.
“La investigación y la educación en ambos países avanzarán drásticamente gracias a su capital humano, que hasta ahora no podía unir fuerzas por un objetivo común”, afirmó.
“En la Universidad Bar-Ilan estamos orgullosos de allanar el camino para tales esfuerzos de colaboración en los campos de la ciencia médica y la salud pública. Campos en los que ya jugamos un papel de liderazgo en Israel, por medio de nuestra innovadora Facultad de Medicina Azrieli en Galilea».
“No tengo ninguna duda de que las facultades adicionales de Bar-Ilan pronto seguirán su ejemplo y ampliarán el alcance de la colaboración entre Bar-Ilan y las universidades de los EAU“, manifestó Zaban.
El canciller de GMU, Prof. Hossam Hamdy, compartió el sentimiento entusiasta de Zaban. “La reunión aquí en Ajman entre nuestros investigadores e investigadores de la Facultad de Medicina de Azrieli fue increíblemente emocionante. Al igual que la firma de este acuerdo, que por fin nos permitirá seguir adelante con nuestros ambiciosos planes de colaboración», celebró.
“Hemos esperado este momento durante mucho tiempo. Tan pronto como se firmaron los Acuerdos de Abraham, nuestra gerencia aprovechó la oportunidad para una cooperación mutuamente beneficiosa con nuestras contrapartes en Israel», agregó.
En cuanto al futuro, Hossam Hamdy, espera visitar Israel en breve y que la dirección de la Universidad Bar-Ilan también los visite.
Desde que se firmaron los Acuerdos de Abraham, Israel y los Emiratos Árabes Unidos han desarrollado relaciones significativamente en diferentes esferas. Tal es el caso de los negocios, el turismo y entre los jóvenes en ambos países.
