La campaña de vacunación contra el coronavirus en Israel se ha ampliado y ahora las personas a partir de los 45 también pueden recibir la dosis. Algunos centros de vacunación se vieron desbordados esta mañana, en tanto que otros se quedaron sin dosis. Muchos israelíes se quejaron por las fallas organizativas del sistema de salud.
«Había una gran fila cuando llegamos allí», dijo Noga Ben Menachem, de Rehovot, quien fue a un centro de vacunación de su servicio de salud privado, Clalit, en su ciudad para que el cuidador de su madre recibiera la segunda dosis. “Había 150 o 200 personas esperando en una gran fila. Cerca de la entrada había como unas 70 personas amontonadas. Lo peor de todo es que había gente en sillas de ruedas esperando, a pesar de que no tenía que hacerlo”, agregó.
Además, no hicieron una división entre aquellos que debían recibir la primera dosis de aquellos que tenían que vacunarse por segunda vez. Parecía un escenario donde podían generarse muchos contagios”, señaló Noga.
De acuerdo con los datos brindados por el Ministerio de Salud esta mañana, 71 de las personas que recibieron la primera dosis llegaron para recibir la segunda 21 días después. Según la información otorgada anoche, el 4% no fue a los centros de vacunación para recibir la segunda dosis 25 días después de que se les administrara la primera.
Incluso en la región norte, a los socios de Clalit que fueron convocados para recibir la vacuna les informaron que las dosis se habían agotado.
«Llegamos a las 8 de la mañana después de que nos llamaran para ser vacunados en Yokneam», manifestó Sagi Tzipori, de Ramot Menashe.
“Había un letrero en la puerta en el que se pedía que todos los que habían llegado para vacunarse, regresaran al día siguiente. Luego nos contactaron y nos dijeron que podíamos vacunarnos hoy a las 5 de la tarde. Decidimos no esperar, por lo que fuimos a Shefa-‘Amr, donde no tuvimos problemas porque vieron que realmente teníamos que recibir la segunda dosis. Allí nos dijeron que el hecho de haber llegado temprano fue bueno ya que las vacunas también se estaban por terminar en ese lugar”, expresó Sagi Tzipori.
«Las personas mayores que estaban allí se enojaron porque no se les informó con anticipación que las vacunas se habían agotado. Dijeron que simplemente se quedaron sin dosis. Creo que es bueno por un lado porque la gente vino a vacunarse, pero por otro lado está mal no informar a las personas. Nosotros viajamos en automóvil y pudimos llegar a Shefa-’Amr, pero para otras personas mayores es más complejo el asunto”, acotó Sagi Tzipori.
Por su parte, Clalit emitió un comunicado reconociendo que había una gran cantidad de personas esperando recibir la vacuna en los centros de vacunación y en las calles. Según la empresa, “esto se debe a que muchos llegaron sin pedir turno. Pedimos a los socios que soliciten una cita con anticipación”. Y agregó: “Hicimos un esfuerzo para darles prioridad a los adultos mayores”.
También este fin de semana, la Municipalidad de Tel Aviv, junto con el Hospital Ichilov, reabrieron el enorme complejo de vacunación en la Plaza Rabin de Tel Aviv. Aquellos que ya habían sido vacunados contra el coronavirus en Israel en el Hospital de Ichilov o en este complejo fueron convocados para recibir la segunda dosis en Plaza Rabin.
En tanto que, desde las primeras horas de la mañana, se formó una larga fila desde la calle Frishman hasta la entrada del complejo. El tiempo medio de espera para recibir la vacuna contra el coronavirus en Israel era de unas dos horas. La mayoría de las personas eran mayores de 60 años, por lo que la Municipalidad de Tel Aviv colocó sillas de plástico para que las personas pudieran sentarse mientras esperaban en la larga fila. Incluso, repartieron vasos de agua a algunas de ellas.
A su vez, el portavoz de la municipalidad, Eitan Schwartz, dijo esta mañana: «Hacemos un llamado a las personas que no tienen turno a no venir aquí para no sobrecargar la espera de aquellos que pidieron una cita con anticipación”.
Schwartz afirmó que a fines de esta semana se sumarán puestos de todos los servicios privados de salud. Allí se podrán vacunar personas a partir de los 45 años, personal docente y más.
Una de las personas que esperaban en la fila para recibir la vacuna en Plaza Rabin contó que había estado esperando más de una hora. «Esta es mi segunda dosis y esperaré hasta recibirla. Vale la pena aguardar”, sostuvo.
Según datos del Ministerio de Salud, en la jornada de ayer (sábado), se registraron 5.000 nuevos casos de coronavirus en Israel. Mientras que permanecen hospitalizadas 1.115 personas, 246 de ellas con asistencia respiratoria mecánica. Además, desde que comenzó el nuevo año, 602 personas fallecieron por causas relacionadas con el COVID-19 en Israel.
