En Israel, el exlegislador del Likud y ministro gubernamental Benny Beguin, hijo del icónico fundador de ese mismo partido y fallecido primer ministro israelí, Menajem Beguin, anunció este jueves que se unirá al partido Tikva Jadasha de Gideon Sa’ar, de cara a las elecciones del próximo mes de marzo.
Beguin, quien sirvió 18 años como diputado del Likud y fue considerado durante mucho tiempo un confidente cercano y aliado del primer ministro Benjamín Netanyahu, anunció en 2019 que no votaría por el partido que fundó su padre debido a sus preocupaciones sobre la ética del primer ministro y la retórica que emanaba del mismo.
“En los últimos años y especialmente en el último año, hemos sido testigos de un fenómeno extraño y peligroso. Y es del gobierno, de todos los lugares, que están saliendo ataques desagradables y crudos contra las instituciones del gobierno central en el Estado de Israel, nuestras instituciones estatales”, dijo Beguin en su declaración del jueves, de acuerdo con The Times of Israel.
“Es necesario detener este fenómeno. La forma de detenerlo es reemplazando al gobierno”. Sa’ar dio la bienvenida a Beguin y dijo que aportaría una valiosa experiencia a la lista informó Enlace Judío.
