En cooperación con restaurantes locales, el municipio de la ciudad israelí de Tel Aviv ofreció pizza en dos centros de vacunación contra COVID-19. Esto se realizó con la esperanza de incentivar la inoculación entre los israelíes, reportó Enlace Judío.

Con casi el 44 por ciento de los israelíes con al menos una inyección de la vacuna de Pfizer-BioNTech, Israel continúa como uno de los países lideres en inoculación. Y aunque mantiene un abasto suficiente de dosis para todos sus ciudadanos mayores de 16 años, la campaña de vacunación se ha ralentizado en días recientes, por lo que desde el gobierno se ha buscado cómo alentar ello.

Además de pizza se ofreció hummus y knafe, un postre tradicional de Medio Oriente, de acuerdo con la agencia.

“Vinimos a vacunarnos, hasta ahora estábamos preocupados, pero debido a las próximas restricciones (contra las personas que no se vacunan) no había muchas opciones, y también es muy bueno conseguir una pizza y un café”, dijo a Reuters el israelí Lizi Kritzer, trabajador municipal de 32 años.

La medida aplicada por Tel Aviv vino unos días después de que una urbe vecina, Bnei Brak, ofreciera a sus residentes, la mayoría de ellos ultraortodoxos, un plato de cholent si acudían a vacunarse.

Eytan Schwartz, portavoz del municipio de Tel Aviv, dijo que la ciudad esperaba que la comida y la bebida ofrecidas en las estaciones de vacunación creen una “atmósfera familiar” para atraer a los que dudan.

“Vine hoy para vacunarme y les digo a todos que vengan y se pongan la vacuna para que podamos mantener nuestra salud mejor”, dijo Iman Dasui, una maestra de 60 años. “También hay knafe aquí… muy sabroso”.
