De esta manera, los estudiantes israelíes de varias universidades e instituciones de educación superior en todo Israel comenzaron a regresar a clases presenciales este domingo por la mañana, después de un año de sesiones remotas a través de la plataforma Zoom.

De acuerdo con el esquema aprobado por el Gabinete del Coronavirus, los estudiantes que regresan deben presentar un certificado de vacunación completa contra el coronavirus o una prueba negativa reciente. También, pueden asistir a las instituciones educativas aquellos que se hayan recuperado del COVID-19. El personal y los docentes de los centros académicos, sin embargo, están exentos de estos requisitos.

El número de estudiantes en cada aula podrán superar el 75% de la ocupación máxima del sitio. Mientras que las salas grandes no podrán albergar más de 300 personas.

La Universidad Hebrea de Jerusalem, la Universidad Bar Ilan, en Ramat Gan, y la Universidad de Ariel, en Cisjordania, sólo permitían que regresaran estudiantes de física, química y biología, ya que deben trabajar en un laboratorio para continuar sus estudios.

Natan Rahat, un estudiante de química de tercer año en la Universidad Hebrea es uno de los que finalmente regresó al campus después de un año de clases remotas. “Aprender a través de Zoom es difícil. Uno de esos estudios fue realizado por la doctora Tali Gazit, miembro del Departamento de Ciencias de la Información de la Universidad Bar-Ilan. Su investigación, que involucró a 550 estudiantes, mostró que solo el 30% dijo que su experiencia de aprendizaje remoto fue positiva. Mientras que el 40% la describió como negativa.
Otra investigación, realizada por el profesor Yair Amichai-Hamburger, el doctor Tal Azran y el doctor Tzahi Hayat en el Centro Interdisciplinario de Herzliya, reveló que los estudiantes extrovertidos encontraron que la falta de contacto humano causaba sentimientos de soledad e insatisfacción en sus estudios en mayor medida que los estudiantes introvertidos
