La marca de ropa Giorgio Armani lanzó a la venta un saco que generó una gran polémica por parecerse a los uniformes utilizados en los campos de concentración nazis.

A través de las redes sociales, la organización StandWithUs, que lucha contra el antisemitismo, se hizo eco y luego llegó el repudio generalizado.

«Este desagradable artículo de ‘moda’ fue visto en Giorgio Armani en Beverly Hills y en su Instagram. Este es un aspecto horrible para cualquiera que recuerde los uniformes de los campos de concentración nazis que los prisioneros fueron obligados a usar. Debería repensar y retirar este ‘estilo’ insensible», expresó a través de su Twitter.

Por su parte, Roz Rothstein, hija de sobrevivientes del Holocausto y CEO internacional y cofundadora de StandWithUs, aseveró: «¿Qué está pasando con Armani? ¿Cómo pudo pasar algo así? Deben eliminar este artículo y disculparse»

También Michael Dickson, director ejecutivo de la organización, recordó un hecho similar pero con la marca Loewe. «Existe un precedente para las marcas de moda que hacen estilos similares y luego los retiran cuando se dan cuenta de la insensibilidad de la misma. Armani debería hacer lo mismo que hizo Loewe». Y adjuntó la nota del suceso.

Ante este comentario, Rothstein agregó: «Aprenda la lección de otros diseñadores que cometieron errores similares y eliminaron los elementos de sus ‘colecciones’. Una chaqueta como esta sería ofensiva no solo para los sobrevivientes del Holocausto, sino también para cualquiera que se preocupe por la memoria del Holocausto».
