Una delegación de médicos israelíes arribó a Uruguay para difundir experiencias y colaborar en la estrategia de lucha contra el COVID-19. Además, Israel realizó una donación de material sanitario, valuada en 250.000 dólares. Será destinada a unidades de cuidados intensivos en el marco de la pandemia de COVID-19

El ministro de Salud, Daniel Salinas, el presidente de la Administración de los Servicios de Salud del Estado (ASSE), Leonardo Cipriani, y otras autoridades brindaron una conferencia de prensa este martes.

«Representan la importancia de estar en el frente de batalla, en el día a día, lidiando con la enfermedad, con la lucha por la vida». Así comenzó diciendo el ministro Salinas sobre los expertos, y calificó esta colaboración como «invaluable en cuanto al aporte intelectual y afectivo».

«En las personas de estos doctores humildes, normales, como todos los uruguayos, queremos expresarle al pueblo de Israel y a toda la colectividad judía uruguaya, que desde hace décadas está recibiendo nuestro querido país, nuestro agradecimiento», añadió el ministro.

Por su parte, el embajador de Israel en Uruguay, Yoed Magen, destacó en la conferencia de prensa que «es realmente importante cooperar con Uruguay. Es un país hermano, muy amigo, y poner nuestra experiencia en su conocimiento para que les pueda ser útil».

También dijo que lo llamó minutos antes de esta instancia el presidente Luis Lacalle Pou. «Agradeció al Estado de Israel por este esfuerzo importante. Quiso también a través mio decirle a la delegación que muchas gracias por el esfuerzo que estaba haciendo, y que sean bienvenidos a Uruguay», contó.

La delegación está compuesta por Amit Gutkind, director de la Unidad de Calidad y Seguridad Responsable del Programa de Inmunización Institucional contra Covid-19, Rony Eshkenazy, médico senior de la Unidad CTI Corona, Moriya Suliman, enfermera senior de la Unidad CTI Corona,  y Shay Swissa, vicedirector de Operaciones del Hospital.

En la conferencia de prensa, Gutkind consideró esta visita como «un momento muy importante». «Las relaciones de varios años entre los dos países siempre fueron tan importantes y tan fuertes, que me parece que no es raro que la segunda delegación que el Hospital Sheba (Sheba-Tel HaShomer) saca afuera del país viene a Montevideo», resaltó.

«Están yendo en un buen camino y van a lograr llegar al momento en que el COVID-19 sea algo de tiempo de antes», destacó.

A su turno, Cipriani destacó el aspecto «práctico» de la visita de los expertos israelíes porque irán a cada uno de los centros, pero «no para verlos de arriba, desde la dirección, sino desde cada paciente a paciente». Además indicó que trabajan con un directivo del centro Sheba en un proyecto «muy ambicioso» de telemedicina para ASSE.

Los médicos estarán por cinco días en el país. Concurrirán al Hospital de Clínicas, al Instituto Nacional de Ortopedia y Traumatología (INOT) y al hospital Español, entre otras instituciones, además de mantener una comunicación virtual con directores de CTI de diferentes departamentos de Uruguay.
