Segundos antes que finalice la primera etapa, Zahavi aprovechó las falencias defensivas de su rival y habilitó a Damari, quien puso el 2 a 0.
Ya en el complemento Bosnia se quedó con un hombre menos por la expulsión de Sunjic, e Israel dominó el trámite del partido, el cual liquidó a los 24 minutos con un gol de Zahavi.
Con esta victoria y el empate de sus principales rivales, Bélgica y Gales, Israel se sitúa primero del Grupo «B» con nueve puntos, uno más que los galeses y tres por encima de belgas, mientras que Bosnia quedó penúltimo, solo por delante de Andorra.
Cabe destacar que Israel y Bélgica tienen un encuentro menos que fue suspendido en septiembre y se jugará en marzo del año que viene.
