Dos hombres pro palestinos fueron acusados por un crimen de odio en relación con un ataque a comensales judíos en un restaurante de Los Ángeles.
La acusación es contra Xavier Pabon (30 años) y Samer Jayylusi (36). A los pro palestinos los imputan por dos delitos graves de agresión por medio de la fuerza, posibles causantes de lesiones corporales, según el fiscal de Los Ángeles, George Gascon. Los cargos también incluyen una incriminación de crimen de odio.
El arresto de ambos se efectuó tras un ataque el 18 de mayo de este año contra personas que cenaban afuera de Sushi Fumi.
Pabon y Jayylusi formaban parte de una caravana pro palestina. Los fiscales alegan que se acercaron a otros dos hombres fuera del restaurante porque eran judíos.
Además, explican que el ataque se produjo luego del conflicto entre Israel y Hamás. Los manifestantes pro palestinos marcharon en todo el oeste de Los Ángeles esa semana.

Por su parte, uno de los comensales, que no es judío, afirmó que una caravana ondeando banderas pro palestinas se acercó y luego comenzó a arrojar botellas.
El hombre también contó que lo agredieron físicamente cuando intentó defender al grupo judío. A su vez, relató que los atacantes utilizaron blasfemias antijudías y que los rociaron con gas pimienta.
Los vándalos sólo fueron descriptos como hombres vestidos completamente de negro. El restaurante no sufrió daños.
