El Museo del Holocausto en conjunto con la Embajada de Polonia realizarán una muestra en homenaje a Jan Karski, quién entregó reportes detallados sobre las acciones de Alemania contra la población judía a representantes del gobierno británico. La exposición se inaugurará el jueves 6 de noviembre a las 19 horas en la sede del museo, en Montevideo 919.
La muestra que se llamará «Jan Karski. Una misión para la humanidad» tendrá la palabra de Claudio Avruj, presidente del Museo del Holocausto; el embajador de Polonia en Argentina, Jacek Bazánski, entre otras personas que asistirán a este evento tan importante. Karski, fue un polaco cristiano que informó al Gobierno polaco en el exilio y a los Aliados occidentales acerca de la situación durante la Ocupación en Polonia, especialmente el secreto de los campos de concentración nazis. Luego de muchos años, Karski fue designado como Justo entre las Naciones por el Museo de Yad Vashem y fue nombrado ciudadano de honor de Israel en 1994.
La exposición desgrana a través de 27 paneles su audaz misión y su compromiso con la justicia y la paz durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
