El presidente de Israel, Isaac Herzog, fue recibido por una guardia de honor y el príncipe heredero Mohammed Bin Zayed (MBZ) en Abu Dhabi el domingo después de llegar en la primera visita de estado presidencial a los Emiratos Árabes Unidos. Bin Zayed agradeció a Herzog por condenar los recientes ataques hutíes contra los Emiratos Árabes Unidos.
“Me gustaría agradecerle su postura con respecto a los recientes ataques terroristas contra instalaciones civiles en los Emiratos Árabes Unidos”, dijo Bin Zayed. “Es una postura que demuestra nuestra visión común de las amenazas a la estabilidad y la paz regionales. En particular las que plantean las milicias y las fuerzas terroristas. Como así también nuestra comprensión compartida de la importancia de adoptar una postura firme contra ellas”.
“A través de la paz, nosotros en los Emiratos Árabes Unidos, Israel y la región en general, podemos dirigir recursos y capacidades para servir a nuestras naciones. Además de allanar el camino para un mañana mejor”, continuó.

Mientras tanto, la Primera Dama Michal Herzog mantuvo una reunión paralela con la Ministra de Estado de Tecnología Avanzada de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos, Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri.
La pareja Herzog aterrizó en los Emiratos Árabes Unidos el domingo por la mañana. Fueron recibidos en el aeropuerto por el Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores y Cooperación Internacional de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos, el jeque Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
En ruta a Abu Dabi, el avión de Herzog sobrevoló Arabia Saudita, donde el piloto les dijo a los pasajeros: «Ahora estamos justo sobre Arabia Saudita. ¡Estamos haciendo historia! Pronto volaremos sobre la ciudad capital».
Hamas condenó la visita de Herzog a los Emiratos, informa Maariv. La organización terrorista afirmó que «rechaza cualquier normalización con los sionistas y sus líderes».
“Traigo conmigo una bendición de paz y un mensaje de paz para los pueblos de la región. La paz trae consigo prosperidad, progreso y crecimiento en beneficio de los pueblos”. Esto afirmó Herzog antes de despegar.
“Le deseo lo mejor y estoy agradecido por su coraje y liderazgo audaz, forjando un acuerdo de paz con Israel y enviando un mensaje a toda la región de que la paz es la única alternativa para los pueblos de la región”.
