Benny Gantz, ministro de defensa de Israel, confirmó el martes que “Irán se está basando metódicamente en el Mar Rojo, con buques de guerra patrullando la región Sur”.
“Es una amenaza directa para el comercio internacional, el suministro de energía y la economía global”, aseguró el ministro.
Para Gantz, “también es una amenaza directa para la paz y la estabilidad en el ámbito marítimo” y advirtió que el accionar de Irán “puede afectar al Mediterráneo y más allá”.
El ministro de defensa habló sobre la problemática en la 26ª Mesa Redonda Anual del Gobierno de The Economist en Atenas, Grecia.

“Durante el último año, Irán se apoderó de petroleros internacionales y atacó embarcaciones” dijo el político israelí, que agregó: “Irán es primero un desafío global, luego es un desafío regional y, por último, es una amenaza para el Estado de Israel”.
Según el ministro, la “amenaza” de iraní no es solo para Israel: “Además de sus ambiciones nucleares, Irán exporta terror a Turquía, Europa, América Latina, África y Medio Oriente”, sentenció.
