La Fundación Americana para la Prevención del Suicidio entregará su premio anual al profesor israelí, Gary Diamond de la Universidad de Ben Gurion por su trabajo para el tratamiento de enfermedades potencialmente suicidas en los jóvenes adolescentes.
El premio será entregado el próximo mes en la que presentará la investigación del profesor premiado por esta institución. El modelo de tratamiento conocido como terapia de familia, es la acumulación de casi 15 años de colaboración entre dos profesores y afirma que la terapia familiar es mucho más efectiva que los tratamientos individuales.
«Hay una gran cantidad de investigaciones que dicen que el apoyo de los padres, la crítica, la aceptación y el rechazo están asociados con la depresión en adolescentes y la ideación suicida», explicó Diamond para un medio israelí.
