El gobierno de los Estados Unidos ofreció hoy ayuda para colaborar en la invitación por la muerte de Alberto Nisman, así como en la causa por la voladura de la sede de la AMIA. Así lo comunicó el Ministerio de Justicia argentino, al cabo de una serie de reuniones que mantuvo el titular de la cartera, Germán Garavano, en Washington.
De acuerdo a la nota, el ofrecimiento fue comunicado al ministro durante un encuentro con la fiscal general, Loretta Lynch, y el director del FBI, James Comey. En concreto, se brindó la posibilidad de contar con equipos técnicos para apoyar las pesquisas.
Lynch se mostró abierta a que el Departamento de Justicia de su país provea la asistencia y el apoyo que Argentina requiera, y agregó que «la obtención de resultados es un elemento crucial para la credibilidad de la sociedad en el sistema penal».
En tanto, siempre según el reporte, el director de FBI manifestó entusiasmo con el esfuerzo argentino en reformar el sistema de justicia, aunque reconoció los grandes desafíos que implica. Y en ese sentido, comprometió la ayuda de esa dependencia «en materia de entrenamiento como de buenas prácticas».
También «mostró gran interés de cooperar con las investigaciones de AMIA y la causa Nisman, y ofreció la colaboración de expertos en la reconstrucción de escenas del crimen».
Desde los EEUU, Garavano hizo saber que pondría en conocimiento a la Justicia argentina de las novedades para el caso de que acepten valerse de las herramientas ofrecidas.
El ministro sostuvo esos encuentro en el marco de una gira que incluyó encuentros con representantes de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA), la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) y la Asociación Internacional de Mujeres Jueces.
