El Estado Islámico a la conquista del sudeste asiático: lanzó una revista en malayo

El grupo terrorista Estado Islámico (ISIS, por sus siglas en inglés) lanzó una revista en lenguaje malayo dirigida a sus seguidores en el sudeste asiático donde los yihadistas buscan asentar un califato regional, informaron este martes medios locales.

La revista Al Fatihin (El conquistador) fue lanzada el pasado 20 de junio en el sur de Filipinas, una región de mayoría musulmana que alberga también islamistas radicales, entre ellos, los yihadistas Abu Sayyaf, que juraron lealtad al Estado Islámico.

«La fusión de estas formaciones rebeldes impulsadas por el ISIS y la unión de sus líderes va a suponer un desafío sin precedentes para el Gobierno de Manila», advirtió en enero de este año Rohan Gunaratna, director del Centro Internacional de Investigación sobre Terrorismo y Violencia Política de Singapur. «Con la proclamación de esta filial de ISIS en el sur de Filipinas, su influencia y su ideología probablemente aumentará en la zona», agregó.

Asimismo, un experto en materia de seguridad declaró a Malay Mail Online que la difusión en la región de un medio de comunicación es una prueba de la creciente influencia del Estado Islámico en la zona y su estrategia de expansión. «Por la forma en que se utiliza el lenguaje, creemos que el escritor y editor del periódico puede ser de este país», agregó la fuente citada por el diario malasio.

La publicación también fue distribuida en Brunei, Malasia, Singapur, el sur de Tailandia e Indonesia, el país musulmán más poblado del mundo, informó el diario de Singapur The Straits Times.

Las cifras oficiales de Malasia, Indonesia y Filipinas señalan que al menos 500 ciudadanos se unieron a la filas del Estado Islámico en Siria e Irak, aunque los diferentes Ejecutivos reconocen que los números reales de combatientes podrían ser superiores. Parte de estos guerrilleros habrían regresado a sus países.

En un video divulgado el pasado 5 de julio, el Estado Islámico amenazó a las autoridades de nusantara, un término que en Malasia incluye también a Filipinas, Brunei, Indonesia, Papúa Nueva Guinea y Timor Oriental, mientras que para los indonesios sólo abarca su nación.

«Hemos dejado de ser ciudadanos vuestros. Nos hemos liberado de vosotros. Vamos a por vosotros con una fuerza militar que no podréis detener, con el permiso y la asistencia de Alá», anunció un combatiente en una mezcla de malayo y árabe, según el diario malasio The Star.
