Dueño de telefónica israelí: Orange capituló ante la »presión antisemita»

El empresario multimillonario israelí-estadounidense, Haim Saban, dueño del paquete de control accionario de la empresa proveedora de servicios de telefonía celular Partner Communications, que tiene la franquicia para usar el nombre de la multinacional francesa Orange, amenazó con acciones legales contra ésta última firma, luego que anunciara que tiene intenciones de cortar sus vínculos con la licenciataria israelí.

Saban acusó a la empresa francesa de rendirse ante la presión de los grupos antisemitas.

Poco después de que Orange anunciara que está tratando de terminar su relación comercial con Partner; Saban salió a responder a la multinacional francesa subrayando que la medida está “completamente fuera de lugar”.

“Partner es una firma israelí en todo sentido. Hemos firmado un contrato con ellos y estamos considerando los pasos que vamos tomar a raíz de sus declaraciones”, apuntó Saban al diario Yediot Aharonot.

Orange “capituló ante las presiones de toda clase de organismos antisemitas”, expresó Saban al Canal 2 de la televisión. “En cada generación ellos se levantan para destruirnos – nosotros somos fuertes y nos uniremos y los combatiremos”.

Haim Saban se dirigía a Las Vegas para un encuentro programado para combatir la campaña internacional de boicot contra Israel, con el multimillonario Sheldon Adelson.

Saban expresó su decepción con el gobierno de Francia, que controla el 25 por ciento del paquete accionario de Orange y evitó condenar las declaraciones del director ejecutivo de la empresa de telecomunicaciones francesa.

Orange confirmó que quiere romper los vínculos con Partner -que tiene la franquicia para usar el nombre de la firma francesa; pero es completamente independiente-; aunque negó que la decisión haya sido motivada por razones políticas.
