Los dos rostros antagónicos del humor musulmán. Por Julián Schvindlerman

El primero en subir a escena fue Dieudonné M´bala M´bala, quien lleva más de veinte años dedicado al stand up en Francia. Sus primeros pasos los dio a dúo con Elie Semoun, un humorista judío francés de origen marroquí, lo cual hacía una pareja curiosa para este musulmán de madre francesa y padre camerunés. Se dieron a conocer en el Café de la Gare en 1991 burlándose de sus diversidades étnicas y religiosas, rápidamente pasaron al teatro Le Splendid, Palais des glaces, al Casino de Paris y a la televisión, tras lo cual se convirtieron en uno de los dúos cómicos más famosos del país. Tras seis años juntos se separaron y cada cual siguió su camino en el negocio de la risa.

Fue en esta fase solista donde Dieudonné mostró su veta antijudía. Los estereotipos a los que había inicialmente apelado con su colega hebreo para mofarse del racismo dieron lugar a bromas de mal gusto que terminaron cruzando la línea roja del odio. A las ceremonias de conmemoración del Holocausto las tildó de «pornografía», elaboró una danza a la que llamó shoananas (Shoá es el término hebreo para Holocausto) y creó un gesto denominado quenelle, suerte de saludo nazi INVERTIDO con el brazo extendido hacia abajo. Tachó al judaísmo de ser un «fraude» y a la comunidad judía organizada de Francia de ser una «mafia» que tiene «control total sobre el ejercicio de la política francesa». Contradiciendo el punto, cofundó el Partido Francés Anti-Sionista y fue candidato al parlamento europeo por el partido de la extrema izquierda Euro-Palestina.

Entre sus amistades se cuentan a notorios negadores del Holocausto como Jean-Marie Le Pen -padrino de su hija y para quien las cámaras de gas de Auschwitz fueron «un detalle de la historia»-, Robert Faurrison -invitado a sus espectáculos y quien cuestionó la veracidad del diario de Ana Frank y las narraciones personales de su paso por los campos de exterminio del sobreviviente y premio Nobel de la Paz Elie Wiesel-, y el ex presidente de Irán Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -para quien el Holocausto fue un mito y quien divulgó fotos de ambos, abrazados y sonriendo, con el tuit «visitando a un viejo amigo y gran artista»-. Uno de sus shows lleva por nombre «Mahmoud» en su honor. El Centro del Film Experimental y Documental de Irán produjo una película dirigida por Dieudonné, titulada (aptamente, uno debería decir) «El antisemita», en la que actúan él y Faurrison. Ahorrémonos los detalles del argumento.

Tras los ataques contra la revista Charlie Hebdo y el mercado judío en Paris a inicios de este año, Dieudeonné proclamó «Je suis Charlie Coulibaly», por uno de los asesinos islamistas. Años atrás viajó al Líbano y se anunció que se reuniría con miembros del movimiento fundamentalista Hezbolá; anteriormente había dicho preferir «el carisma de Ben Laden al de Bush». El Ministro del Interior Manuel Valls afirmó que Dieudonné ya no era un comediante sino un racista y prohibió la exhibición pública de sus shows.

Del otro lado del Canal de la Mancha, el británico Humza Arshad ofrece un contrapunto interesante. Hijo de padres pakistaníes, transformó el humor en una herramienta educativa y de concientización pública contra el integrismo islámico. Sus videos online, especialmente la serie «Diarios de un hombre malo», han recibido más de sesenta millones de visitas y despertado el interés de Scotland Yard; y no justamente por haber violado alguna ley antidiscriminatoria. «¡Pensé que me iban a detener!» bromea, pero le propusieron colaborar para evitar la radicalización de los jóvenes musulmanes y su descenso al jihadismo. «Acepté porque soy musulmán y británico, y me siento orgulloso de ello», indicó.

Con más de seiscientos jóvenes musulmanes británicos unidos al grupo Estado Islámico en Siria e Irak, el mensaje de Arshad es urgente. La iniciativa nació en la mente de Rizwaan Chothia, de la Unidad de Operaciones Especiales de la Policíade East Midlands, al cabo de ver a su hijo mirar encandilado la serie de Arshad. Miles de alumnos en escuelas del país fueron visitados por el comediante, quien tras mostrar un video en el cual él actúa, da lugar a un debate acerca del extremismo y la prevención del mismo.

The Independent llamó a Dieudonné un «Louis Farrakhan francés… obsesionado con los judíos», por el legendario antisemita norteamericano. El Sydney Morning Herald bautizó a Arshad el «anti Jihadi John», por el sanguinario corta-cabezas británico enlistado por el EI. Ambos ofrecen dos rostros muy dispares de la comunidad musulmana europea contemporánea. Esperemos que -en la competencia tácita en la que ellos están enfrascados por las mentes y los corazones de la nueva generación musulmana en el viejo continente- gane no solamente el mejor, sino el más moderado.
