No hay dudas que en estos días del Mundial de fútbol de Brasil, la fiebre por ver los partidos hace que la globalización llegue a su grado máximo. Pero no en todos lados la televisión pública es la que posee los derechos de transmisión de los encuentros.
Lo que es sobreentendido en estados donde sus selecciones juegan en el Mundial – Argentina, Chile, Uruguay o paises europeos -, no lo es tanto en países que no son parte de la máxima fiesta futbolística.
Sólo los argelinos son los privilegiados del mundo árabe que pueden ver los encuentros en TV abierta.
En el resto de las naciones los derechos fueron adquiridos por el canal qatarí Al Jazeera Sport que transmite únicamente por cable y, además, exige un pago extra así como la compra de un decodificador para poder presenciar los partidos en vivo.
El costo del decodificador – en Jordania se habla de 250 dinares o 360 dólares – limitó las posibilidades de audiencia a gente con mejor poder adquisitivo o en bares y restaurantes donde la transmisión se usa como atracción a los clientes.
Para peor, los canales públicos europeos que transmiten los partidos via satélite fueron obligados a cerrar sus transmisiones, limitando aún más las posibilidades de los hinchas en paises árabes.
El único que aporta una solución es el canal oficial israelí que se puso muy de moda en los países limítrofes como Jordania, Egipto, Siria, Líbano y hasta en Gaza y Cisjordania.
Los relatos de YoramArbel, Danny Noiman, Meir Einstein y NadavYaakobi son muy populares estos días, aunque seguramente buena parte de la audiencia no entienda hebreo.
Habría que preguntarle a los ministros israelíes de Finanzas y Comunicaciones, Yair Lapid y GiladErdán, respectivamente, quienes anunciaron el cierre la TV pública hasta fin de año, qué opinan ante el sorpresivo ascenso de rating del canal oficial hebreo, que bate todos los récords de audiencia durante el Mundial.
