Un juez de instrucción del Tribunal Federal de Justicia de Alemania emitió este jueves una orden de arresto contra Stephan B., el sospechoso del ataque de ayer contra una sinagoga y un restaurante turco de la ciudad alemana de Halle.
Así lo comunicó un portavoz de la Fiscalía General del Estado de Alemania, reportaron medios locales alemanes.
Los fiscales alemanes solicitaron ante el juez dicha orden bajo la presunción de los cargos de dos homicidios y al menos nueve tentativas de homicidio de los que se le acusan a Stephan B.
Desde Halle, fue trasladado en helicóptero hasta la ciudad de Karlsruhe, sede del Tribunal Federal de Justicia de Alemania. Escoltado por fuerzas de seguridad encapuchadas, Stephan B. apareció con una venda en el cuello, en una aparente herida producida durante su acto en Halle.
Previamente, de acuerdo a reportes, las autoridades registraron el hogar del sospechoso y aseguraron evidencia.
El sospechoso transmitió en vivo su ataque a través de una plataforma en internet, una grabación de una duración de 35 minutos. Presuntamente también publicó un manifiesto en línea en el que delineó su plan para ejecutar una masacre masiva dentro de una sinagoga en Yom Kipur.
Con base a palabras dichas en el video y lo expresado en su manifiesto, cargado de un fuerte contenido antisemita y racista, el sospechoso culpa a los judíos de ser “la raíz” de problemas en Europa y los acusa de controlar a gobiernos en Occidente.
Según aseguró en el presunto manifiesto, “el mejor día para la acción” homicida contra judíos era en Yom Kipur, debido a que consideraba que “incluso los judíos ‘no religiosos’ a veces visitan la sinagoga en esta fecha”.
Al momento de su intento de ingresar por cada una de las tres puertas de la sinagoga de Halle, que le llevó alrededor de siete minutos, cerca de entre 70 y 80 personas se encontraban dentro, con motivo del día más sagrado del judaísmo. Entre los devotos se contaban al menos 10 norteamericanos y algunos israelíes.
Medios alemanes han reportado que las víctimas mortales del ataque corresponden a Jana L., de 40 años de edad, y Kevin S., de 20 años de edad.
Conforme al material de video, el sospechoso asesinó a Jana L. luego de que, transitando ella a pie por la avenida de la sinagoga le exclamó “¿Debe de pasar esto mientras yo camino por aquí?”, mientras aquel intentaba tratar de entrar desesperadamente al templo. Stephan B. reaccionó de inmediato y la abatió a tiros desde la espalda. Posteriormente, la remató.
Kevin S. se desempeñaba como empleado de construcción en la ciudad de Halle, y se encontraba comiendo con un amigo dentro del local turco Kiez Döner al momento del ataque. Como en el caso de Jana L., el sospechoso remató a Kevin S. segundos después de dispararle mortalmente.
La canciller Angela Merkel y el presidente Frank-Walter Steinmeier se han comprometido a mejorar la seguridad de la comunidad judía en Alemania y a combatir de manera más enérgica el odio en el país.
El primer ministro de Israel, Benjamín Netanyahu, y el presidente israelí Reuven Rivlin se han comunicado con Merkel y Steinmeier, a quienes agradecieron su compromiso contra el antisemitismo y les instaron a fortalecer el combate al fenómeno.
