El emocionante encuentro entre un judoca israelí con su par iraní

En la mañana del jueves, en el Salón de Judo de China, se vivió un momento inusual cuando los judocas Sagi Muki y Saeid Molaei se estrecharon en un abrazo de concordia.

Muki, israelí consagrado campeón mundial este año en Tokio en la categoría hasta 81 kilogramos, recibió el afectuoso saludo del iraní Molaei, quien hace unos meses debió abandonar ese mundial porque su federación le prohibió enfrentar a un deportista de Israel.

A raíz de este incidente la Federación Internacional de Judo suspendió a Irán de manera indefinida, hasta que desistan de boicotear a Israel, y Molaei debió continuar su carrera fuera del país. Primero lo hizo como refugiado en Alemania y actualmente representando a Mongolia.

Por iniciativa de Moshe Ponti, presidente de la Asociación Israelí de Judo, la reunión se celebró en el área de pesaje de la competencia que comenzará en las próximas horas. Molaei se refirió a Muki como «un amigo» y durante la charla los dos jóvenes se desearon suerte en el torneo que eventualmente podría enfrentarlos en la final. El iraní se manifestó feliz por volver a competir con judocas de cualquier país, entre ellos Israel, y expresó: «Rezo para que sea así para todos los atletas iraníes».
