En las últimas semanas, Israel le envió a Hamás una nueva propuesta para alcanzar un acuerdo sobre un posible intercambio de prisioneros. La organización terrorista aún no respondió.

Israel mantiene contacto indirecto con Hamás para negociar un acuerdo de intercambio de prisioneros. El objetivo es llevar de regreso a Israel los cuerpos de los soldados Oron Shaul y Hadar Goldin, y los civiles Hisham a-Sayed y Abra Mengistu, que se encuentran retenidos por la organización terrorista en Gaza.

La contrapropuesta que Israel le envió a Hamás se produce tras la oferta que recibió en abril de este año. El grupo terrorista, con Egipto como mediador, afirmó que el requisito previo para alcanzar cualquier acuerdo sería la liberación de todos los terroristas que fueron arrestados nuevamente, luego de haber sido liberados en 2011 a cambio del soldado israelí Gilad Shalit, quien fuera secuestrado por la organización terrorista en 2006.

Se trata de decenas de prisioneros. Algunos de estos terroristas estuvieron involucrados directamente en ataques contra Israel después de su liberación.

Benjamín Netanyahu, se refirió a los esfuerzos que Jerusalén está llevando a cabo para alcanzar un acuerdo. En un discurso durante la ceremonia en memoria de los caídos en la operación “Margen Protector” del año 2014 en Gaza, Netanyahu afirmó: “Cuando nosotros vemos una ventana de oportunidad, le damos una chance”.

El coordinador de la Oficina del Primer Ministro, Yaron Blum, y el Consejo de Seguridad Nacional, son los encargados de llevar adelante las negociaciones.
