Hace pocas semanas atrás falleció Jorge Slafer(Z’L) , que entre otros cargos fue presidente de Cissab y Faccma.

Quizás lo que mejor puede reflejar quién era Jorge y que nos legó en su paso como dirigente comunitario es la unanimidad en el reconocimiento de sus pares como una persona de encuentros, acuerdos, de sumas y de logros.

En mi opinión, es imprescindible recalcar a aquellos que pasan por la dirigencia comunitaria dejando y haciendo escuela. Considero que el solo hecho de entregar “tiempo” en sí mismo no es un valor. Más bien creo que se debe generar acciones con calidez y calidad.

Las buenas intenciones de algunos dirigentes no bastan por sí solas, a veces y sin quererlo, pueden obstaculizar una iniciativa o proyecto y hasta perjudicar de forma importante el devenir de una institución.

Quiero recordar a Jorge con dos grandes momentos que pueden ilustrarlo en toda su dimensión.

A comienzos de la década del 90, yo desempeñaba el rol de Director Ejecutivo de Faccma y trabajábamos en el primer piso del edificio de la Calle Perón. Un día toca alguien a la puerta de mi oficina y al ingresar me dice: “Hola ¿Qué tal? Soy Jorge Slafer, nuevo Presidente de Cissab. Quiero hacer una transformación en Cissab, pero necesito que me recomiendes un muy buen Director Ejecutivo. Porque para hacerlo necesito un profesional de primer nivel, si no es de primer nivel no me recomiendes a nadie”.

Por suerte, creo que le recomendé a la persona indicada y trabajaron muchos años juntos haciendo crecer a la institución. Era la confirmación también de un pensamiento que llevó por años en el que la combinación entre voluntarios y profesionales tienen una gran potencia y la comunidad judía sabe mucho de eso.

En el último año, junto a un grupo de compañeros, logramos que Jorge forme parte de nuestra agrupación UNA AMIA. Siempre se destacó en la búsqueda constante de armonía y unidad. Siempre aportando experiencia, sensatez y sabiduría. Con la intención ferviente de generar consensos en la diversidad.

De estas dos pequeñas historias quiero rescatar dos conceptos relevantes para cualquier dirigente:

La primera es que Jorge comprendió que siempre es necesario de estar bien acompañado para poder tener éxito. Con las mejores personas y herramientas disponibles.

La segunda es que quien conduce debe saber claramente los objetivos y la meta. Pero sabiendo que el eje es la generación de consensos y formando equipo.

Para Jorge tender puentes, la unidad, los acuerdos, los concibia como algo inherente a lo comunitario y no solo como un mecanismo de hacer política.

Todos los que formamos UNA AMIA queremos manifestar nuestra profundo dolor y tristeza por el fallecimiento de Jorge Slafer (Z’L), que nos deja un vacío y a la vez, sentimos que nos deja un legado por el que estamos totalmente comprometidos para poder llevarlo adelante.

Se ha ido alguien singular y sabemos que la mejor manera de honrar su memoria y de que Jorge siga presente en todos nosotros, es siguiendo sus pasos y ejemplo.
