“La injusticia de estas acciones no puede sostenerse, debe haber una condena global a esta abyecta indiferencia por la justicia y la denigración de la vida, especialmente de las vidas judías”, indica un párrafo del duro comunicado conjunto de las organizaciones judías mundiales.
La conferencia de presidentes de las principales organizaciones judías mundiales publicó este jueves un duro comunicado. Allí condenó la absolución de Carlos Telleldín, quien entregó la camioneta traffic blanca que se utilizó como coche bomba en el atentado a la AMIA. Y, también, criticó la inminente liberación de los asesinos de Daniel Pearl, un periodista israelí-estadounidense secuestrado y decapitado en Pakistán en 2002.
“Demandamos justicia luego de observar un patrón profundamente perturbador donde distintas cortes en el extranjero evitaron sentenciar a aquellos que han tomado vidas judías”, comienza el comunicado, firmado por tres principales funcionarios de la organización.
Con respecto al desarrollo en el caso de Telleldín, que tuvo lugar el pasado 23 de diciembre, expresaron: “Una corte federal en Argentina eligió absolver a Carlos Telleldín, un sospechoso clave en el atentado de 1994 contra la Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) en Buenos Aires que tomó las vidas de 85 personas inocentes que se convirtieron en objetivos simplemente por ser judías”.
En la misma línea, se mostraron “asqueadas con la decisión del tribunal supremo de Sindh (en la región de Karachi) de liberar a Ahmed Omar Sheikh y otros tres involucrados en el asesinato barbárico del periodista judío-estadounidense Daniel Pearl en 2002″. “Es inentendible que estos asesinos queden en libertad”, agregó.
Al finalizar, se refirieron a ambos casos e indicaron que la injusticia de estas acciones no puede sostenerse. Y reclamaron una “condena global a esta abyecta indiferencia por la justicia y la denigración de la vida, especialmente de las vidas judías”.
“Todos quienes creen en la dignidad humana deben repudiar estas decisiones y pedir que sean rápidamente apeladas y revertidas”, concluyó el documento.
Sobre el caso Telleldín, los jueces darán el próximo 26 de marzo los fundamentos de su sentencia. A su vez, desde ese momento, la Fiscalía y las querellas tendrán 10 días para apelar el veredicto y que sea revisado por la Cámara Federal de Casación. Fuentes allegadas a las acusaciones descuentan que lo harán después de conocer las fundamentos del tribunal.
En tanto, este es el tercer juicio que afrontó Telleldín. El primero por el mismo hecho y quedó absuelto cuando se decretó la nulidad del caso y se ordenó que se vuelva a investigar. Y el segundo, por las irregularidades en la investigación del atentado en el que lo condenaron a tres años y medio de prisión.
Los fiscales de la Unidad AMIA, Roberto Salum, Santiago Eyherabide y Santiago Roldán, la querella que representa a los familiares de las víctimas, a cargo de Horacio Etcheverry y Analía Fangano, y la de AMIA-DAIA, encabezada por Miguel Bronfman, pidieron que Telleldín sea condenado por haber entregado la camioneta que se usó en el atentado.
Por su parte, referido al caso Sheikh, el tribunal supremo de Sindh (Pakistán) emitió la orden de dejarlo en libertad. El tribunal omitió a la instrucción del gobierno de mantenerlo detenido.
Hace pocos meses, Sheikh fue exonerado de cargos de matar a Pearl. Pero hasta ahora permanecía detenido en base a la apelación de los familiares de Pearl.
“La orden de detención quedó anulada”, expresó Faisal Siddiqi, abogado de la familia. Indicó que Sheikh quedará libre hasta que concluya la apelación pero regresará a prisión si la apelación prospera.
Sin embargo, aclaró que el gobierno provincial de Sindh ha apelado la decisión de dejar libre a Sheikh.
