«Estoy emocionada y orgullosa», dijo la teniente coronel R., de 37 años, al ser la primera mujer oficial que supervisará la inteligencia israelí contra Irán.
En su nuevo cargo, supervisará la recopilación de inteligencia de las operaciones contra lo que las FDI definen como estados enemigos del tercer círculo, entre ellos Irán.
R., de 37 años, casada y madre de dos hijos, ascendió en las filas de la Inteligencia Militar. Comenzó su servicio en 2002, descifrando imágenes aéreas. Luego, completó la capacitación de oficiales y se desempeñó en varios roles en la Unidad 9900. Siendo responsable del análisis de imágenes y la creación de mapas a partir de imágenes encriptadas.
“Estoy emocionada y orgullosa de ser la primera mujer oficial en desempeñar un trabajo tan importante para la seguridad de Israel. Un rol que requiere responsabilidad, la capacidad de cooperar y tomar las decisiones operativas adecuadas en un ámbito tan complicado”, manifestó R tras su nombramiento.
A su vez, el ochenta y cinco por ciento de las posiciones en las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel están abiertas a las mujeres, y los soldados del batallón “Haraam” -que comenzó a aceptar mujeres en el 2000- ofrecen una ventana a la evolución de la política de género de un ejército que se enorgullece de ser socialmente progresista.
