Tras haber sido galardonado con el Premio Trayectoria del Fondo Nacional de las Artes por su trabajo en cultura, el expresidente de la Organización Sionista Argentina, el ingeniero y gestor cultural Jacobo Fiterman decidió donar el monto de su premio a dos causas: compra de instrumentos para una orquesta infantil y la compra de una heladera para almacenar vacunas contra el Covid 19. Fue presidente de la OSA entre los años 1981 y 1984.
En diciembre del año pasado el FNA entregó sus tradicionales Premios Trayectoria. Entre los 16 homenajeados se encuentra Jacobo “Fito” Fiterman a quien se le entregó el premio por su trabajo en gestión cultural.

El ingeniero, gestor cultural, fotógrafo, coleccionista y mecenas anunció la donación de su Premio Trayectoria de 150.000 pesos. Parte del mismo se utilizará en la compra de atriles e instrumentos para la Orquesta Infantil El Ombú. La misma funciona en Luján, coordinada por Santiago Mastronardi y Patricia Bisso.
De esta manera, la mitad del dinero del premio irá a fomentar el importante trabajo que realizan las orquestas infantiles. “Enseñar música en la niñez, en la adolescencia es brindar herramientas. La música es un derecho de acceso a la cultura, a un lenguaje que nos pertenece”. Así lo dijo Bisso en relación a su trabajo en El Ombú.
La segunda mitad del premio irá a la congregación Pardes para comprar un freezer donde se almacenarán vacunas contra el Covid 19, con el objetivo de vacunar en dicha institución.
Fiterman, además, es un gran impulsor y sostenedor de la obra de Carlos Alonso (Unquillo, premio trayectoria del FNA, año 2004) , entre otros reconocidos artistas; participó del comité fundador de ArteBA, la feria de arte contemporáneo que se convirtió en motor fundamental del mercado local y que presidió durante más de diez años.
