El deporte está lleno de historias sorprendentes que desafían las probabilidades. sin importar contextos, siempre nos deja historias que valen la pena contar. Este es el caso de Saied Mollaei, un judoka iraní que se hizo famoso por negarse a cumplir las órdenes del régimen persa.

Corría el año 2019 y en Tokio, Japón, se disputaba el Mundial de Judo. Mollaei tenía que competir contra Sagi Muki, judoka israelí. La orden oficial era que Mollaei debía abandonar el torneo para evitar competir contra el israelí, pero el deportista no hizo caso. Luego, incluso se negaría a volver a su país de origen y se radicó el Alemania.

En febrero de este año, Mollaei hizo historia al participar del Grand Slam en Tel Aviv, en donde se reencontró con Muki (judoka israelí) y exhibieron su amistad a prueba de diferencias nacionales. Ahora, esa historia llegará a la pantalla chica de la mano de Tadmor y MGM, que adquirieron los derechos para realizar una serie sobre la historia de Mollaei y Muki.

Ambos judokas serán parte del proyecto, que además estará realizado en colaboración con la Federación Internacional de Judo. La idea de la serie es contar con imágenes exclusivas y entrevistas sobre el desarrollo profesional de los amigos, haciendo hincapié en el rol del deporte para romper barreras y generar mensajes esperanzadores.
