Se estima que el daño de los cohetes de Gaza disparados por Hamás contra Israel durante la Operación Guardián de los Muros costará más de 40 millones de dólares, informó Israel Hayom .
Según estimaciones del Sindicato de Contratistas de Renovación (RCU), reparar el daño costará aproximadamente 130 millones de shekels ($ 40,044,992), más del doble de lo que costó reparar el daño después de la Operación Borde Protector en 2014, cuando el daño totalizó aproximadamente 60 millones de shekels. ($ 18,482,472).
La mayor parte del daño se produce en vidrios rotos, ventanas, cortinas de ventanas, daños en metales, reparaciones de yeso y pintura, y daños en el piso y el calafateo debido a impactos de cohetes. Se espera que la mayoría de los daños se reparen en un plazo de seis a diez meses.

Según el presidente de RCU, Aran Siv, «Casi el 70% del daño es relativamente leve. El daño fue causado principalmente por metralla y daños por impacto, a cientos de metros de donde aterrizó el cohete».
Siv agregó que en los casos de impacto directo de un cohete , existe la opción de destruir el edificio por completo y reconstruirlo. La otra alternativa es hacer renovaciones masivas desde los cimientos, lo que se espera que tome más tiempo, hasta un año o más. .
En su opinión, sin el sistema de defensa antimisiles Iron Dome, el daño a los edificios habría sido al menos cuatro veces mayor que el actual.
