Maestra judía: «Los alumnos compitieron para pegarme banderas palestinas»

Una maestra judía se pronunció luego de haber sido blanco de un ataque por parte de los alumnos de la escuela, que le pegaron banderas palestinas. El suceso ocurrió en una escuela del norte de Londres, en el Reino Unido.

“Toda la escuela estaba llena de banderas palestinas, todos los alumnos empezaron a gritar ‘Palestina libre’. Al principio pensé que solo estaban haciendo una declaración para todos los maestros. Pero luego me di cuenta de que estaba dirigida a mí y a otros maestros que son judíos».

Además, la maestra judía contó que los alumnos compitieron para ver quién podía pegar la mayor cantidad de banderas palestinas y calcomanías de «Palestina Libre» en su pelo y ropa.

“Estaban tratando de pegar esas calcomanías en mi cabello. Rompí a llorar, no pude dar mi clase esa mañana”, expresó. Y agregó: “Renuncié inmediatamente. Ni intentaron que me quedara».

La Unión Nacional de Educación (NEU, sindicato de maestros), recibió críticas por enviar correos electrónicos a sus miembros instándolos a asistir a una manifestación pro palestina, sin condenar el antisemitismo.

Precisamente, desde febrero se produjo un éxodo masivo del NEU citando su postura sobre Israel tras el conflicto con Hamás. Al menos 25 miembros del sindicato, junto con tres representantes oficiales, renunciaron.

Un ex representante, John López, dijo: «Sentí que no tenía otra opción que dejar la Unión, que me aisló por ser un maestro judío y pro Israel».
