Israel califica la nueva ley polaca del Holocausto como «inmoral» y «vergonzosa»

El ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Israel, Yair Lapid, dijo que la nueva ley polaca del Holocausto «es una desgracia».

«Ninguna ley cambiará la historia», expresó Lapid, además de calificar el proyecto de ley, que prohibiría las reclamaciones de restitución del Holocausto en el país, como «una desgracia que no borrará los horrores ni la memoria» de la Shoá.

La legislación, que se aprobó el jueves por la noche con 309 votos a favor, cero votos en contra y 120 abstenciones, establece un plazo de 30 años para que los judíos recuperen las propiedades incautadas por los nazis, esencialmente evitando reclamaciones de compensación de la Segunda Guerra Mundial o apelaciones de decisiones pasadas. Ahora  falata que se apruebe en el Senado polaco.

“Es una terrible injusticia y vergüenza que daña los derechos de los sobrevivientes del Holocausto, sus herederos y miembros de las comunidades judías que existieron en Polonia durante cientos de años. Esta es una acción incomprensible. Esta ley inmoral dañará gravemente las relaciones entre los países”, manifestó Lapid.

A su vez, aseveró que era «extremadamente preocupante y grave» que Polonia estuviera ignorando la Declaración de Terezin.

¿Qué significa la Declaración? Busca acelerar el proceso de devolución de los bienes confiscados a los judíos durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

“Israel se erigirá como un muro de protección en defensa de la memoria del Holocausto, de los sobrevivientes y sus propiedades”, dijo el canciller.

El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Polonia respondió que los comentarios de Lapid sobre el proyecto de ley están equivocados.

«Son indicativos de ignorancia de los hechos y la ley polaca», dijo el ministerio en un comunicado. «Polonia no es de ninguna manera responsable del Holocausto, una atrocidad cometida por el ocupante alemán también contra ciudadanos polacos de origen judío».

Por su parte, comentó que la nueva legislación se aprobó porque era inconstitucional y “una grave violación de la ley” no tener límite de tiempo para revocar decisiones administrativas pasadas.

El ministro de Igualdad Social, Meirav Cohen, miembro del partido Yesh Atid de Lapid, también denunció a los legisladores polacos por promover el proyecto de ley.

«Los legisladores polacos deberían inclinar la cabeza y avergonzarse del paso que dieron esta noche», twitteó Meirav Cohen, ministro de Igualdad Social israelí.
