El reconocido y muy querido dirigente de la comunidad judía argentina, además de un defensor acérrimo del Estado de Israel, Jaime Jacubovich Z´L, falleció este domingo. Este 7 de agosto cumplía 100 años. Lo enterraron hoy en el cementerio de La Tablada.

En una sentida entrevista que le realizó el director ejecutivo de la DAIA, Víctor Garelik, Jacubovich respondió a la pregunta de ¿qué fue lo qué más feliz lo hizo en su vida?: «Cuando era un niño tener los 10 centavos para entrar al cine». Luego yo ayudé mucho a la AMIA y a la DAIA y tuve mucho dinero, «pero nada me hizo tan feliz como eso», agregó.

Sus compañeros de trayectoria comunitaria reconocieron en él a alguien que dedicó su vida a la comunidad judía argentina, a la causa de la dignidad del pueblo judío y a ayudar al Estado de Israel. Su hija Claudia, presente en muchos de los homenajes que recibió en vida Jaime, dijo sentirse orgullosa por “escuchar todas las cosas buenas y lindas que él hace”. A su vez su nieto, que también lo acompañaba, subrayó el compromiso permanente de su abuelo “y como dio su vida por la comunidad”. Fue el impulsor del libro «Serán la vida»

El dirigente había instituido el premio Jacubovich, en memoria de sus padres, a los alumnos de la Red Escolar Judía, por destacarse en el aprendizaje del idioma hebreo.

La DAIA lamentó el fallecimiento en un comunicado en sus redes sociales

Lamentamos el fallecimiento del Jaime, ex integrante de la Comisión Directiva de la DAIA y un dirigente de gran trayectoria en la comunidad judía argentina

Expresamos nuestras más sinceras condolencias a sus familiares y amigos, y elevamos una Oración para que tengan la fuerza y el temple necesario para superar este triste momento.
