Joey Barton, entrenador del Bristol Rovers (Inglaterra), fue repudiado por comparar las derrotas de su equipo con el Holocausto.

Karen Pollock, directora ejecutiva de Holocaust Educational Trust (organización benéfica), expresó que fue «claramente una comparación inapropiada».

El Grupo Directivo del Día Conmemorativo del Holocausto de la ciudad también criticó la declaración del gerente. “Comparar el mal desempeño de un jugador o equipo con un Holocausto muestra una falta de comprensión de la verdadera barbarie, tortura y maldad que se infligió a los grupos vulnerables de la sociedad. Es una pena que ni el club de fútbol ni el entrenador Joey Barton emitan una disculpa inequívoca», manifestó la entidad.

Este lunes, la Agencia Nacional de Educación de Suecia recomendó impulsar a que los estudiantes intenten demostrar que el Holocausto nunca sucedió.

La «sugerencia» vino en un manual para maestros de secundaria que creó la entidad gubernamental a cargo de los asuntos escolares.

“El Grupo 1 debe encontrar al menos tres argumentos para el caso de que el Holocausto nunca sucedió, utilizando hechos e información de Internet. También pueden preguntar a otros qué creen y por qué”, dice el ejercicio.

Además, incluye un ejemplo similar que anima a los estudiantes a respaldar el argumento de que se realizó el alunizaje de 1969. El manual definió tanto el alunizaje como el Holocausto como «temas controvertidos».
