Desde el 2020, el Cementerio Nuevo de la Asociación Israelita de Beneficencia es blanco de robos, destrozos y un daño que no es medible en términos de pérdidas materiales.
Profanar las tumbas de nuestros seres queridos genera un daño irreversible en la moral de una comunidad que forja su presente en la fortaleza de haberse repuesto a una herida histórica, que repercute en la historia de todos en tanto Humanidad.
Tras los robos del 2020 y los sucedidos en el 2021, antes de que finalice el primer mes de este 2022, el Cementerio Nuevo sufrió un golpe que repercute en toda la comunidad.
Desde hace tiempo trabajamos el concepto de Hacer Comunidad como una forma de abrazarnos en la vida cotidiana, de acompañarnos en eso común que nos constituye. Nuestra Institución se rige por fines benéficos. Tiene la preocupación por el prójimo como guía de acciones, programas, y también como fundamento de la educación que imparte.
En este sentido queremos remarcar que la profanación de un lugar donde descansan los restos de un ser querido es un acto cuestionable desde todo punto de vista. Su gravedad excede cualquier credo o religión.

Más allá de los esfuerzos que se doblegan para repudiar y evitar que estos actos se sigan sucediendo, este es un llamado a la toma de conciencia social acerca del momento que estamos atravesando. Tzedaká es una palabra hebrea que significa solidaridad. Tiene su raíz en la palabra tzedek, justicia, de modo que Tzedaká significa justicia social, solidaridad. Implica defender el derecho a vivir con dignidad.
Estos últimos destrozos a las lápidas y tumbas exceden nuestros principios de bien común. Califican como violentos, agresivos, indignos.
Antes de hacer comunidad, somos una comunidad.
Una comunidad que promueve el respeto, defiende el derecho de una vida digna (con vivienda, alimento, educación, salud) y promueve la busca del bienestar común.
Queremos agradecer a todas las instituciones, medios de comunicación y periodistas, socios. También a la comunidad rosarina en general por acompañar este reclamo y llamado a la reflexión.
