La Comibol almacenó documentos contables, informes económicos, estudios mineros, junto con otros papeles de los potentados Patiño, Aramayo y Hochschild, a quienes el Estado boliviano les nacionalizó todas sus actividades en 1952 por considerar que sus prácticas de extracción del estaño empobrecían a Bolivia.

Allí apareció también la desconocida historia de solidaridad de Hochschild con los perseguidos por el régimen nazi. Entre los documentos hay contratos de trabajo hechos a judíos por la minera de Hochschild, como el de Erico Nagel Thale, nacido en Leipzig en 1904 y que llegó a Bolivia a los 32 años, junto a su madre Ana de 74.

El trabajo de filtración de esos papeles llevó 15 años e involucró a cerca de 40 personas en una minuciosa investigación, cuyo resultado será oficialmente reconocido como Memoria del Mundo en abril.
