El reconocido director de cine Brett Ratner se mudó de Hollywood a Israel después de ser acusado de abuso sexual
El director Brett Ratner, acusado de abuso sexual por múltiples actrices, ha decidido abandonar Hollywood e instalarse en Israel.
Según el Jerusalem Post, el cineasta anunció su decisión mediante una story de Instagram en la que mostraba un certificado de inmigración israelí y documentos de la seguridad social, firmando como «Brett Shai Ratner», su nombre hebreo.
Ratner, conocido por su trabajo en X-Men: La decisión final y la franquicia Hora punta, puede haber influido su amistad con el primer ministro Benjamin Netanyahu y su familia. De hecho, aprovechó para fotografiarse junto a los Netanyahu en septiembre, cuando el mandatario israelí visitó la Asamblea General de la ONU en Nueva York.
¿De qué se acusa a Brett Ratner?
En 2017, durante el auge del movimiento Me Too contra los abusos sexuales en Hollywood, Ratner fue señalado como responsable de varios casos de abuso sexual. Las actrices Olivia Munn y Natasha Henstridge se contaron entre las mujeres que le acusaban en un reportaje del Los Angeles Times.
Henstridge, que trabajó con el director en la franquicia Species, afirmó que Ratner la obligó a practicarle una felación en su domicilio de Nueva York en los años 90. En cuanto a Munn, habría tenido que presenciar cómo el director se masturbaba en su presencia durante una visita al set de El gran golpe en 2004. Ratner negó todas estas cosas.
A resultas de estas acusaciones, Warner Bros decidió cancelar su acuerdo con RatPac-Dune Entertainment, la empresa propiedad de Brett Ratner. Asimismo, el director también estuvo vinculado al escándalo de Kevin Tsujihara, antiguo CEO de Warner, y sus intentos de promocionar la carrera de su amante, la actriz Charlotte Kirk.
