Un alto funcionario del Ministerio de Salud advirtió que Israel está al borde de una segunda ola que llevará a un brote generalizado del coronavirus, informó en el Canal 13 de la televisión israelí.
El funcionario dijo que no es posible relacionar todas las infecciones en todo el país con la reciente propagación del virus en las escuelas secundarias.
Añadió, “Los hospitales tienen casos difíciles como los que no hemos visto en dos meses”.
El Ministerio de Educación expresó que 51 escuelas han sido cerradas después de que se descubrieran 261 casos de infección de coronavirus entre sus estudiantes y personal docente. Cerca de 8.000 profesores y estudiantes están en aislamiento.
El Ministerio de Salud informó el jueves por la tarde que se han detectado 118 nuevos casos de coronavirus en las últimas 24 horas.
Desde el inicio de la pandemia en Israel, 17 495 civiles han contraído el patógeno, 15 013 de ellos se han recuperado totalmente y el estado de 291 pacientes se ha complicado debido a la COVID-19, enfermedad causada por el coronavirus.
Hay 2 191 infectados que siguen luchando contra el coronavirus en Israel, entre ellos 23 que reciben asistencia respiratoria, un largo camino desde el pico de 140 pacientes entubados del país, hace un mes y medio.
