El presidente de la DAIA, Julio Schlosser y el presidente de la AMIA, Leonardo Jmelnitzky brindaron una conferencia de prensa en conjunto, dado que el plenario fue organizado por las dos instituciones, y ambos expresaron un mensaje de unidad y de apoyó a la causa AMIA. Además reiteraron en varias oportunidades que no van a emitir ninguna declaración hasta que la justicia no dictamine.
El presidente de la Delegación de Asociaciones Israelitas Argentina habló sobre un momento emotivo que se vivió en la reunión en el que hubo un aplauso para los familiares de las víctimas de la AMIA: «Tanto Leonardo (Jmelnitzky) como yo sabemos que puede haber muchas cosas que podemos disentir, pero los muertos de la AMIA, y los familiares de estos, no se canjean, no se negocian y no se venden. Es el único objetivo que tenemos nosotros a pesar de que algunos, tal vez, piensen en otros métodos, el único objetivo que tenemos es justicia para la causa AMIA».
«La comunidad judía esta unida, y tiene un compromiso con la justicia y con la democracia, y que va a trabajar para defender esos dos principios», enfatizó Jmelnitzky, y continuando con esta línea Schlosser agregó: «La DAIA y la AMIA no juzgan, no absuelven y no condenan, y no existen elementos ahora para que nosotros podamos emitir cualquier juicio de valor sobre la situación. Como dijo recién Leonardo, justicia y democracia, y sí confiamos en la justicia tenemos un fiscal, un juez y un expediente, y todo tiene que salir de ahí. Es la única verdad que nos interesa conocer. No ponemos la causa AMIA en ningún juego político. La causa AMIA es algo puro, que debemos defender y que esta ajeno a todo juego político en el cual quieran involucrar a la comunidad judía.
Ante la consulta sí la DAIA y la AMIA iban a asistir a la reunión que vaya a tener el fiscal Alberto Nisman con los diputados y senadores de la Nación, Schlosser aseguró que en caso de que el encuentro sea abierto y sean invitados la comunidad estará presente.
Por último, el presidente de la AMIA expresó que la comunidad judía puede estar tranquila que van a actuar con toda la prudencia y con la firmeza para cuidarla y protegerla, mientras que el presidente de la DAIA señaló que ellos no harán evaluaciones, y que están esperando la respuesta del juez.
